Rocksteady was first released in soft head version followed by the more common hard head release, both are dated 1988. The shield is similar to ones that come with multiple other items - The 1988 Cheapskate which has lines above and below the wording on the shield, the one in 1988's Gags, Jokes and Crazy Weapons #1 is a lighter colour and the 1992 Movie Star Leonardos is silver. His shield is the same colour as his knife and has no lines above and below the words on it. His knife is the same as the 1988 Foot Soldiers.
